The Womb Room: An Immersive Art Installation

The Womb Room, 2022

Immersive Installation

The Fearless Artist presents “The Liberation of Beauty”

The Womb Room was a multidisciplinary immersive installation created by Sarle’ Jeffries featuring the works of textile/fiber-based artists, Isamar Gonzalez, and Silvana Vergara. The installation allows the participant to explore the relationship between self and the womb; a self-contained vessel that is capable of housing life, emotion, and memory.

While consciously exploring this relationship, the artists took us on a reflective journey to call to mind our shared experience. Through weaving textiles to create extensive patterns, forms, and textures, the idea is presented that we are bound by the creator’s thread from conception.

No matter your spiritual affiliation, educational background, or cultural expression, all were welcomed to enter this space and continue this dialogue.

The questions posed by Sarle’ to all the viewers:

How do you value the relationship between self and the womb?

When did you first become conscious of the womb?

If you wrote a letter to your womb, what would you say?

This installation was featured on BET during Miami’s Art Basel week. See the BET interview HERE.
